The Hellcatz were formed in December of 2003 in Tucker Ga. Currently comprised of Chris Massey - Vocals, Tim Cash - Lead & Slide Guitar, Mark Willis - Rhythm Guitar, Johnny Scales - Lead Guitar, Mark Charameda - Bass, & Chris Bradford - Drums.
It's difficult to put an exact stamp on the Hellcatz music. On their debut album "Out On The Town", released in May of 2005, the influences of Southern Rock, Rhythm & Blues, and Country are all represented.
The two strongest cuts on the album "Too Much Fun" and "Ain't Lookin' for Love" are two well-done R&B numbers with a splash of country. Tim Cash's screaming slide on "Short Dressed Woman", and "Dirty Woman Blues" is enough to tickle the fancy of any Southern Rock fan. While the ballad "When It's Over" and the country standard "I Feel Like Drinkin'" would both feel right at home on any Honkey-Tonk juke box.
The band also has an exhaustive R&B cover list, with songs from the early Rolling Stones and CCR, as well as guitar heroes like Stevie Ray Vaughn and Alvin Lee.
So, if it's a one set night of Hellcatz originals, or a three set night with all of the trimmings, the CATZ are always a drinking, dancing good time.
